On July 29, the Hebei Provincial Preliminary Competition of the Third National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest, jointly hosted by the Hebei Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Hebei Provincial Department of Education, the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Hebei Provincial Department of Finance, along with a showcase and exchange event commemorating the 40th anniversary of the postdoctoral system in Hebei Province, opened in Shijiazhuang. With the theme “Postdoctoral Innovation Leads Four Decades; Smart Talent Empowers the Future,” the event aims to establish a high-level platform for the exchange and display of postdoctoral innovation and entrepreneurship, thereby promoting the contribution of young scientific and technological talent to Hebei’s high-quality economic development.

The “Intelligent Membrane Coupling Technology—A Breakthrough for Near-Zero Discharge and Resource Recovery of Pharmaceutical Wastewater” project from Guangxiang Pharmaceutical, selected by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, along with the Group’s “R&D and Industrialization of Raw Material Processes for the Iron-Chelating Agents Deferiprone and Deferoxamine,” competed against 148 other innovative projects from across the province. Notably, the “Intelligent Membrane Coupling Technology—A Breakthrough for Near-Zero Discharge and Resource Recovery of Pharmaceutical Wastewater” project was awarded the Excellence Prize in this selection competition.
“Through technological innovation, we have developed an advanced membrane-coupling technology that recovers high-purity water, enabling the simultaneous treatment of precious-metal recovery and water-resource reuse. This approach effectively addresses the challenges associated with wastewater treatment in active pharmaceutical ingredient production and holds significant potential for application in industrial wastewater treatment, resource regeneration, and cost control,” said Dr. Liu Yanjie, project leader of the Group’s Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Intelligent Membrane-Coupling Wastewater Treatment Project.
According to reports, the event is centered on a full-chain service model encompassing competitions, exhibitions, conferences, recruitment, performances, and signing ceremonies. It features six key initiatives: selection-round roadshows, an exhibition of postdoctoral research achievements from Hebei Province, a financial-services matchmaking conference, a matchmaking session for innovation-driven scenarios aimed at empowering young scientific and technological talent, a special recruitment drive for postdocs, and a signing-and-award ceremony. These activities not only serve as a comprehensive showcase of Hebei’s postdoctoral innovation achievements but also represent pragmatic measures to deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research and to support Hebei’s high-quality development.
In the exhibition area showcasing postdoctoral research achievements, our province has brought together cutting-edge research outcomes spanning such fields as biopharmaceuticals and greater health, high-end equipment manufacturing and robotics, modern agriculture and food, and next-generation information technology and artificial intelligence. These exhibits provide a multifaceted presentation of Hebei Province’s remarkable accomplishments in building postdoctoral platforms, cultivating talent, and translating research findings into practical applications, thereby fully highlighting the vigorous momentum of innovation-driven development across the Yanzhao region. Notably, the booth of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group prominently featured the company’s substantial recent progress in integrated “active pharmaceutical ingredient–finished dosage form” development, drawing keen attention from attending experts and scientific and technological professionals.
