At around 12:30 a.m. on February 1, eight container trucks loaded with raw materials for the production of epidemic-prevention medicines entered the main checkpoint of the Shijiazhuang Comprehensive Bonded Zone. Two customs officers from Zhengding Customs, which is affiliated with Shijiazhuang Customs, had already been waiting at the checkpoint. They promptly disinfected the cargo and carried out inspection and release, completing the entire clearance process in just 15 minutes.
According to reports, the shipment weighs a total of 192 metric tons and consists of raw materials for infusion packaging used in the production of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. This marks the first batch of imported epidemic-prevention clearance goods under the supervision of Shijiazhuang Customs.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical has urgently produced and dispatched 170,000 bottles (or bags) of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection, sodium chloride injection, and other emergency antimicrobial, antiviral, and basic infusion medications to Wuhan, Enshi, and other regions. Due to several consecutive days of full-capacity production, there has been a severe shortage of raw materials for infusion packaging. “The timely customs clearance of this batch of raw materials has ensured the production and supply of epidemic-prevention medicines by pharmaceutical companies.”
