Xing Guohui Chairs Symposium with Selected Enterprises, Emphasizing the Need to Diligently Fulfill Social Responsibility and Drive Enterprises to Achieve Greater Excellence and Strength

On the morning of February 4, Xing Guohui, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee, chaired a symposium with representatives from several enterprises. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions as well as the decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and to follow the requirements of the provincial Party committee and provincial government for effective epidemic prevention and control. He called for fully leveraging the role of enterprises and entrepreneurs across the city, earnestly fulfilling their social responsibilities, accelerating structural adjustment and transformation, and striving to enhance the quality and strength of enterprises, so as to make new and greater contributions to the city’s epidemic prevention and control efforts and to its economic and social development. Deng Peiran, Deputy Secretary of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Shijiazhuang, attended the meeting.

During the symposium, Wu Xiangjun, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress and Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, reported on the efforts made by private enterprises in our city to combat the epidemic. Nine entrepreneur representatives, including Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., actively shared their views and offered suggestions on epidemic prevention and control work.

Xing Guohui, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal People’s Government, expressed heartfelt gratitude and profound respect to entrepreneurs and workers across the city. He pointed out that since the outbreak of the epidemic, entrepreneurs throughout the city have thoroughly studied and implemented the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, fully carried out the work requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Government, proactively engaged on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control, and provided strong support for both local efforts and assistance to Wuhan, Hubei, in combating the epidemic. They have made gratuitous donations of funds, medicines, protective supplies, and equipment, thereby making a positive contribution to securing victory in the battle against the epidemic.

Xing Guohui put forward four expectations for entrepreneurs. First, we must elevate our political awareness and steadfastly fulfill our corporate social responsibilities. We need to rigorously implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, as well as those of the provincial Party committee and provincial government, and the specific requirements of the municipal Party committee and municipal government, dedicating ourselves with a strong sense of responsibility and mission to epidemic prevention and control efforts and pooling powerful collective strength to combat the outbreak. Second, we must enhance our awareness of protection and effectively prevent employee infections. We should comprehensively implement joint prevention and control measures and community-based prevention and management, conduct thorough and systematic surveys and registrations of employees’ health conditions and travel histories during holidays, strictly enforce requirements such as temperature checks and mask-wearing upon entering the factory, and vigorously carry out cleaning and disinfection, sanitation improvements, workshop ventilation, and staggered meal times for employees, thereby reducing crowd gatherings and effectively guiding enterprise staff to strengthen self-protection and ensure workplace safety. Third, we must increase production capacity and operate at full throttle to expand output. We should build up reserves of raw materials, allocate resources rationally, accelerate the production of urgently needed medical supplies, and actively contribute to the city’s epidemic prevention and control efforts. Production and service enterprises for water, electricity, gas, heating, rice, flour, edible oil, vegetables, and other essential goods must also resume operations promptly to ensure stable and orderly market supply across the city. Fourth, we must enhance innovation capabilities and accelerate structural adjustment and transformation. We must remain unwavering in pursuing our annual economic development goals, focus on doing a good job in the “six priorities,” keep an eye on developing the “four types of economy,” and be prepared to address various complex and challenging situations. We need to comprehensively improve the quality and efficiency of enterprise development, continuously increase investment in scientific research and innovation, and strengthen enterprises’ core competitiveness.

Xing Guohui emphasized that Party committees and governments at all levels must enhance their service delivery and proactively address the difficulties faced by enterprises. Ensuring the smooth production of key enterprises should be treated as a major task, with proactive efforts made to help these enterprises resolve their challenges and accelerate their development. Departments responsible for administrative approval and market regulation should fully perform their functions, streamline approval procedures, strengthen business guidance, effectively uphold market order, and provide robust support for enterprise development. Meanwhile, publicity departments at all levels should vigorously promote the exemplary models and touching stories of local enterprises that have emerged in the fight against the epidemic, thereby fostering a favorable social environment that respects, cares for, and supports enterprise development.
