This spring has been all the more unforgettable due to the onset of the battle against the epidemic. We pay tribute to those who have bravely stepped forward in the face of adversity, to the selfless and fearless white-clad angels, and to every worker dedicated to the front lines of labor.
Today, Hebei TV’s “Going to the Grassroots” reporters visited Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to see how the company is going all out and fulfilling its duties to the fullest in the frontline battle to ensure supply.

▲ Since Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical resumed production, Han Huijuan, packaging team leader of Workshop 102, has remained at her post and worked overtime despite being six months pregnant. Pictured here is Han Huijuan inspecting the operation of the abidor hydrochloride capsule production equipment.

“Checking capsule fill-weight variation, operating the control panel, and verifying process parameters—Han Huijuan has long since mastered every step of the production process. As a regular packaging team leader in Workshop 102 at Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., she is currently six months pregnant. Since resuming production on the eve of the Lunar New Year, she has been working overtime alongside her colleagues every day. ‘My family is worried, but we’re both employed, so they’re quite understanding,’ Han Huijuan said. ‘I’ve worked here for more than a decade, and the workshop is now facing heavy workloads and a severe staffing shortage. To ensure that we can complete our production targets on time, I’ve thrown myself into my work.’”

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, demand for epidemic-prevention medications and sanitary disinfectants has surged. Responding promptly to this urgent need, Mi Junqing, director of Workshop 103, volunteered to retrofit the disinfectant production equipment to meet the requirements of epidemic control. “From filling and capping to labeling and secondary packaging—right through to the final finished-product stage—we’ve streamlined every step: what was once done manually is now carried out on an assembly line. Previously, our output was about 10,000 bottles per shift; now we’ve increased that to 40,000 bottles per shift,” said Mi Junqing.
Currently, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has fully resumed production on its disinfectant product lines as well as its antiviral and antibacterial drug manufacturing lines, with 2,300 employees working tirelessly on the front lines of producing epidemic-prevention medications.
Take pharmaceuticals for disease prevention and control as an example: currently, an average of 180,000 bags of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection and 900,000 capsules of arbidol hydrochloride are produced each day.

It’s not just about production; in the face of the urgent demand for medicines on the front lines of epidemic control, how to deliver the manufactured drugs to Hubei and other areas in dire need in the shortest possible time has become a daily concern for Li Ligong, manager of the Storage and Transportation Department. Particularly when it comes to interprovincial transport, ensuring that drivers are properly motivated and aligned is of paramount importance. “At first, everyone was quite anxious about the epidemic, which made it challenging to carry out our work effectively. So we took a step-by-step approach, starting with Party members and veterans. Once we had these pioneers leading the way—those willing to go against the tide—the subsequent shipments proceeded much more smoothly.” In addition, the department has provided transportation drivers with protective supplies such as masks and disinfectant, and has actively arranged for portable stoves and gas cylinders—essential outdoor picnic equipment—to offer comprehensive logistical support.
Over more than 20 days of steadfast dedication, the Storage and Transportation Department dispatched over 800,000 cartons of pharmaceuticals to Wuhan and Enshi in Hubei Province, as well as to neighboring provinces and cities, successfully completing the first-phase mission of providing emergency drug transportation support to frontline medical teams.
At the same time, they have actively assumed social responsibility: on January 25, they donated RMB 2 million worth of moxifloxacin hydrochloride and sodium chloride injection to designated hospitals in Wuhan; and on February 13, they donated RMB 150,000 worth of emergency rescue medicines to the Shennongjia Forestry District, which is receiving paired assistance from Hebei Province.

Going forward, Shisi Pharmaceutical will continue to ensure uninterrupted production and fortify the vital defense line of pharmaceutical safety. “While prioritizing the health of our employees, we have organized personnel to maintain production, with a particular focus on manufacturing arbidol capsules—an antiviral medication—to meet the needs of epidemic-affected areas. To date, we have already shipped more than 1.1 million capsules, thereby securing the supply of medicines in these regions, and we plan to continue delivering products to the affected areas on an ongoing basis,” said Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shijiazhuang Shisi Pharmaceutical.
