In recent days, the COVID-19 pandemic has raged. Time and again, the most admirable “runners toward danger” have stepped forward, using their ordinary selves to build a protective barrier for the hundreds of millions of Chinese people behind them. In recent days, the COVID-19 pandemic has raged. Time and again, the most admirable “runners toward danger” have stepped forward, using their ordinary selves to build a protective barrier for the hundreds of millions of Chinese people behind them. In the face of this epidemic, the broad ranks of employees at Shisi Pharmaceutical have once again taken up the “banner” of safeguarding public health.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shisi Pharmaceutical has closely monitored the evolving situation. Upon learning that medical institutions in Wuhan and other areas were in urgent need of medical supplies, the company promptly responded to the call, acted proactively, and ramped up production of antiviral drugs and disinfection and protective supplies, doing everything possible to support the fight against the epidemic. To date, Shisi Pharmaceutical has donated antiviral and antibacterial medications, including moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection and arbidol hydrochloride capsules, as well as disinfection and protective supplies, totaling more than RMB 2.43 million to frontline prevention and control efforts, with RMB 2.284 million of that going to Hubei Province.
On January 25, the first day of the Lunar New Year, relevant medical institutions and state-owned pharmaceutical trading enterprises in Wuhan City requested urgent support from Shisi Pharmaceutical for emergency medicines such as moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection. Chairman Su Xuejun personally took charge, urging that every possible effort be made—regardless of cost—to ensure the production, stockpiling, and supply of antiviral drugs during the epidemic prevention and control period. He emphasized that all resources must be mobilized to provide full support to Wuhan, and that a portion of the company’s reserve stock should be prioritized for donation to hospitals treating COVID-19 patients.
Employees in production, marketing, R&D, finance, warehousing, and logistics voluntarily stepped forward, forgoing their Spring Festival holidays to work collaboratively and ensure the smooth dispatch of emergency medicines. On the afternoon of January 27—the third day of the Lunar New Year—three large container trucks, loaded with 130,000 bags (or vials) of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection and other critical supplies destined for Wuhan, along with donated medications valued at RMB 2 million, sped toward the city.
“We sincerely thank your company for your support and encouragement, and we are grateful for the social responsibility demonstrated by caring enterprises like yours in spreading positive energy throughout society, which has strengthened the confidence and resolve of frontline medical personnel in our fight to win the battle against the epidemic.” On February 7, Shisiyao received a “special” letter of appreciation from the People’s Hospital of Longkou City in Shandong Province. The letter expressed gratitude for Shisiyao’s donation of no-rinse hand sanitizer during this critical period, which has effectively safeguarded the health and safety of medical staff and the broader patient population.
The severe shortage of medical supplies and the sharp surge in patient admissions in epidemic-affected areas have placed doctors and nurses directly at risk from the coronavirus. In response to the urgent need to contain the outbreak, Shisi Pharmaceutical has swiftly reallocated production resources to donate urgently needed supplies such as disinfectants, working hand-in-hand with healthcare professionals to provide a protective barrier for both medical staff and the general public. “We hope to demonstrate the responsibility of a pharmaceutical company through concrete actions and join forces to win this critical battle against the epidemic,” said Su Xuejun with resolute conviction, echoing the shared sentiment of all employees at Shisi Pharmaceutical.
On February 14, a sudden drop in temperature could not dampen the fervent spirits of those involved as a truck loaded with RMB 150,000 worth of moxifloxacin hydrochloride and sodium chloride injection was dispatched to the Shennongjia Forestry District.
The evening before yesterday, Shisi Pharmaceutical received a letter from the Hubei Shennongjia Forestry District Federation of Industry and Commerce—forwarded by the Hebei Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce—requesting support in the form of COVID-19 prevention and control protective supplies. Su Xuejun immediately coordinated with both the provincial federation and the Shennongjia Forestry District federation. Upon learning that the district’s designated hospital was facing a shortage of emergency medications, he personally arranged for the allocation of 150,000 yuan worth of moxifloxacin hydrochloride sodium chloride injection from the company’s stockpile to be donated to the Shennongjia Forestry District. At the same time, he coordinated with the Provincial Zhongji Poverty Alleviation Foundation under the provincial federation to donate 2,000 boxes of arbidol capsules to the district.
Due to logistical disruptions, Shisi Pharmaceutical urgently coordinated with specialized courier and logistics services to ensure the timely delivery of emergency medications to the forest area, thereby gaining precious time for the treatment of patients.
“Epidemics are merciless, but humanity is full of love.” Guided by a strong sense of responsibility, the employees of Shisi Pharmaceutical are giving back to society and demonstrating profound compassion. Su Xuejun stated that ensuring the supply of medicines on the front lines of epidemic prevention and control is the duty of pharmaceutical companies. Shisi Pharmaceutical will continue to precisely align with clinical needs, further strengthen the procurement and donation of emergency medications, and remain closely connected with the Chinese people at all levels. With a commitment to responsibility and accountability, the company vows to join the entire nation in winning this battle against the epidemic.
