From the moment Shijiazhuang Sihua received the “national assignment” to the delivery of the emergency medication, less than two days elapsed.

▲On the morning of February 21, a truck carrying 125 packages—totaling 600,000 capsules—of abidor hydrochloride, an emergency national pharmaceutical supply from Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical, arrived at the warehouse of China National Pharmaceutical Group Hubei Co., Ltd. in Wuhan.

At 6:00 p.m. on February 19, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. received an “Emergency Task Dispatch Order” from the Medical Supplies Guarantee Group of the National Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism for the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic, mandating that all difficulties be overcome to deliver, in phased shipments by February 26, 50,000 boxes of Arbidol Hydrochloride Capsules (12 capsules per box) to Hubei Province.

Upon receiving the “Urgent Mission Dispatch Order,” Qu Jiguang, Chairman of the Board of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group, immediately stated that the task requirements must be implemented to the letter and that every effort must be made to ensure the supply of epidemic prevention and control materials to Hubei Province. Qu Jiguang said, “Providing support to Hubei is the responsibility that our pharmaceutical company must fulfill. We must respond promptly to the urgent needs of Hubei and the nation, and deliver this batch of medicines to Hubei at the earliest possible moment.”

Zhu Zhiyong, Deputy General Manager of New Drug Marketing at Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Trading Company, immediately contacted Sinopharm Holdings Hubei Co., Ltd. Upon learning that Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical had arranged for the full-scale, emergency shipment and delivery of Arbidol capsules, the contact at Sinopharm Holdings Hubei repeatedly expressed heartfelt gratitude over the phone: “This is truly a timely help in times of need—thank you so much, Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical!” The sales, finance, warehousing, and transportation departments coordinated closely and responded swiftly, promptly completing all outbound logistics procedures.

At 2:30 p.m. on February 20, loading was swiftly organized. By 4:00 p.m., a truck carrying 125 cartons—totaling 50,000 boxes and 600,000 capsules of Arbidol hydrochloride—had sped onto the Beijing–Hong Kong–Macao Expressway, bound for Wuhan. Just after 9:00 a.m. on February 21, Li Ligong, manager of the Storage and Transportation Department responsible for the logistics support mission for Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical, received a call from driver Deng Junpo: “We’ve arrived at our destination, are now completing the inbound procedures, and will begin unloading shortly. Please rest assured.”

Abidor Hydrochloride Capsules are Shijiazhuang No.4 Pharmaceutical’s flagship antiviral product. From January 25 to February 20, the company has cumulatively dispatched 2.1 million capsules of Abidor Hydrochloride to Hubei Province, with 1.7 million of those going to Wuhan.
