Guangxiang Pharmaceutical, Shisiyao Group: Balancing Epidemic Prevention with Production

All major production lines at Guangxiang Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group, have now been fully commissioned, marking the transition to steady-state production.

“The epidemic will not abate until prevention and control efforts can be relaxed,” said Lu Fengjun, General Manager of Guangxiang Pharmaceutical. During the critical phase of the epidemic response, to ensure a smooth resumption of work and production, the company has arranged for all mid-level and senior managers to report to work ahead of schedule, established an emergency management team for the epidemic, and developed a comprehensive contingency plan for handling epidemic-related emergencies. The company has also procured in advance essential protective supplies such as masks and thermometers. Currently, daily temperature monitoring and information registration for all employees are being carried out rigorously, and the factory premises, employee dormitories, and staff canteen are subjected to thorough, scheduled disinfection.

While maintaining robust epidemic prevention and control measures, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical’s environmental protection workshop operated around the clock during the Spring Festival, with both biochemical and physicochemical treatment systems running continuously to ensure that all effluent met regulatory discharge standards, thereby underpinning stable production. Following the holiday, the company implemented scientifically informed adjustments to its production scheduling to fully support 24-hour uninterrupted operations. Currently, Workshop 602 is producing 19 metric tons per day of Product A, Workshop 603 is producing 3 metric tons per day of Product B, and 6 metric tons per day of Product C. Yang Huiling, Director of the General Office at Guangxiang Pharmaceutical, stated that the Cangzhou Municipal Government and the Management Committee of the Bohai New Area Port-Adjacent Development Zone have dispatched dedicated personnel to the company to provide on-site assistance and resolve practical issues hindering production. As a result, employee attendance has been steadily increasing, and production capacity is gradually recovering.

Mr. Lu Feng stated, “Although epidemic prevention and control measures have posed considerable challenges to our business operations, the impact is only temporary. Our core business objectives remain unchanged, and we are committed to making up for the losses incurred due to the pandemic. As the epidemic situation continues to improve, the market’s full potential will be further unlocked.” Recently, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical has overcome numerous obstacles and proactively boosted sales; to date, it has shipped multiple batches of active pharmaceutical ingredients and plans to accelerate shipment schedules going forward.
