In accordance with the Measures for Public Participation in Environmental Impact Assessment (Ministerial Order No. 4, dated July 16, 2018), once the draft environmental impact report for a construction project has been prepared, opinions relevant to the project’s environmental impacts must be solicited.
I. Basic Project Information
The Azithromycin Capacity Expansion and Retrofit Project of Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Xingye Street and Three Gorges Road in the Shijiazhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone. The project involves an investment of RMB 40 million and is situated within the existing API production workshop, where selected existing buildings and utility facilities will be repurposed, new equipment will be procured, and existing plant space will be optimized to expand and upgrade the original azithromycin production line. Phase I will focus on constructing storage facilities, including a new enclosed tank farm with a floor area of approximately 500 square meters, which, upon completion, will meet the production requirements for both the current 100 t/a capacity and the additional 300 t/a capacity. Phase II will add a production line for the precursor erythromycin iminoether A. Upon completion of the project, the total azithromycin production capacity will increase from 100 t/a to 400 t/a.
