The China Health Industry Ecology Conference (CHEO), also known as the “CIP Conference,” is a high-profile, forward-looking industry event dedicated to fostering ecosystem integration in China’s pharmaceutical innovation sector, promoting high-quality innovation that meets clinical needs and enhances accessibility. It attracts significant attention from experts, academics, leading domestic and international pharmaceutical and retail companies, as well as healthcare and health-related capital and service providers. The theme of the 2021 CHEO was “The Efficiency Revolution: Accelerating New Drug Development and Improving Drug Accessibility.”
The Pharmaceutical Industry Comprehensive Competitiveness Index is a multi-dimensional, multi-indicator, all-round assessment of pharmaceutical enterprises in China conducted by Zhongkang Technology based on its six-factor model—commercialization capability, R&D capability, product strength, brand strength, production capacity, and profitability. The index reflects the overall competitive strength of pharmaceutical companies.
According to available information, among the top 100 enterprises in the pharmaceutical industry’s comprehensive competitiveness index, 70 are primarily engaged in chemical pharmaceuticals, 23 focus on traditional Chinese patent medicines, and 7 specialize in biopharmaceuticals. Examining the competitiveness indices of these 100 companies, it is evident that, aside from commercialization capabilities, chemical pharmaceutical firms and biopharmaceutical firms with strong R&D capabilities tend to score higher and rank higher in the overall index.
