“Come on, let’s head to the badminton hall and see who’s got the better game!” “What a joy to receive a birthday cake voucher from the company on my special day!”—To better serve our employees, the Party Committee and the Trade Union of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. have taken proactive steps: they conducted in-depth field surveys to thoroughly understand employees’ cultural needs, and, in light of the company’s production and business priorities, meticulously planned and organized a series of heartwarming cultural and sports activities, including badminton matches, birthday cake deliveries, and movie-ticket giveaways. These initiatives are designed to help employees fully feel the company’s care and warmth, boost their enthusiasm for work, and further energize them to contribute even more to the company’s development.
Not long ago, as soon as the union posted the notice about organizing a badminton event, it energized employees across the board—especially single young staff—and the union’s consultation and registration hotline was inundated with calls. “Before launching this activity, our Party and Mass Work Department conducted a questionnaire survey among all employees, and the results showed that badminton is one of the most popular activities among our workforce. To enrich employees’ extracurricular cultural life and strengthen the sense of unity and cohesion within the workforce, the Party Committee and the union, after careful deliberation, decided to organize recreational and fitness badminton activities for employees, with the ‘Four Medicines Cup’ Badminton Tournament tentatively scheduled for early August,” said Ma Nannan, a union official.
According to the introduction, the employee activity venue has been set up at the badminton hall across from Mingzhu Park, which is located not far from the company, allowing employees to walk there in just a few minutes after work. The activities will run from now until mid-July, taking place every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with each session limited to two hours.
With everyone’s favorite sports now in full swing, an exciting piece of news has recently been circulating among the company’s employees: the trade union will be issuing a birthday cake card to each active, on-duty employee. “We have already coordinated with a local bakery to custom-make 10-inch cream-and-fruit cakes emblazoned with the company logo, so that we can extend the company’s and the union’s birthday wishes to our staff in this thoughtful way,” said Ma Nannan. According to reports, to make it convenient for employees, the birthday cakes will be distributed in the form of cards. On the Friday preceding their birthdays, employees may present their original ID cards and proof of current employment at the Party and Mass Work Department to collect their cards.
In addition, according to the head of the company’s trade union, to enrich employees’ extracurricular cultural life, the company has purchased movie tickets for nearly 4,000 staff members. Taking into account employees’ residential locations and scheduling constraints, these tickets are valid at five cinemas across the city and can be used until the end of this year, allowing workers to choose a nearby theater that fits their availability. “Even the VIP screening rooms are open,” one employee who had already seen a film excitedly told a colleague. Many employees, after participating in the trade union’s cultural and sports activities, sincerely remarked: “The series of events organized by our union are truly heartwarming!” (Hebei Workers’ Daily)
