On November 22, the Shijiazhuang Exhibition on the Glorious Achievements of Enterprise Development in Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-Up, jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee and the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, opened at the Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center. With the theme “Forty Years of Steadfast Endeavor: Ushering in a New Era for the Flourishing ‘Zhuang’,” the exhibition highlights the profound transformations across all aspects of the city’s economic and social development through the lens of enterprise growth. The opening ceremony was presided over by An Shuguo, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shijiazhuang Municipal People’s Congress and Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, and attended by Vice Mayor Jiang Wenhong, who delivered a speech. Song Mingxia, Chairwoman of the company’s trade union, along with more than 50 employees, also took part in the opening ceremony.

In her address, Jiang Wenhong fully affirmed the vital role played by the city’s working class in the course of reform and opening-up, and expressed earnest expectations that, as the city embarks on the great journey of building a happy Shijiazhuang, the broad ranks of workers and trade union organizations at all levels will better shoulder their mission and forge ahead with boldness and initiative.

In the exhibition hall, 25 participating enterprises—including Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical, the Municipal Public Transport Corporation, Changshan Textile, and Beiren Group—used displays of photographs, text, and physical exhibits in their respective booths to chronicle the arduous entrepreneurial journeys of their employees and the evolution of their businesses. According to reports, the exhibiting companies represent all facets of the city’s “4+4” modern industrial sectors, with a total of 1,911 photographs on display.

“Press on with unwavering resolve and strive in the new era.” Song Mingxia stated that this exhibition places particular emphasis on highlighting contrasts between past and present and on conducting horizontal comparisons, making full use of historical photographs and adopting a richly illustrated format to vividly showcase the remarkable achievements attained over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up—especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China—in the development of our company and of enterprises across our city. The exhibition is deeply inspiring; as industrial workers in the new era, we must remain true to our original aspiration, forge ahead with determination, and shoulder the new mission of driving high-quality enterprise development.
