On July 15, the unveiling ceremony for the university-level practice base for professional-degree graduate students and the off-campus internship and practice base for undergraduates of China Pharmaceutical University was held at the Pharmaceutical Research Institute of Shijiazhuang No. 4 Pharmaceutical Group, marking a new milestone in the city’s collaborative efforts between universities and enterprises to cultivate innovative, high-caliber pharmaceutical professionals. Leaders from China Pharmaceutical University, including Party Secretary Jin Nengming, attended the ceremony.
China Pharmaceutical University, a key national “Double First-Class” institution renowned for its excellence in both pharmaceutical education and research, has achieved remarkable success in talent development and cutting-edge R&D, garnering widespread attention within the industry.
Shisi Pharmaceutical Group has maintained a long-standing, friendly university–enterprise partnership with China Pharmaceutical University. In June 2021, the two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement, establishing platforms for joint research and talent development, including co-built laboratories and undergraduate internship bases. Over the past year, leveraging innovation capital and project development as connecting links, the university and the enterprise have actively pooled their respective human and resource strengths, focusing on emerging needs such as novel compounds and innovative targeted small-molecule drugs. They have carried out a series of pragmatic collaborations, including joint R&D on innovative medicines, evaluation of innovative drug pipeline projects, and technical guidance on generic drug development, achieving a number of significant results that have helped the company move up the value chain. This year, Shisi Pharmaceutical Group has, in a single intake, hosted 43 undergraduate students from China Pharmaceutical University for their graduation internships, infusing the company’s talent-development efforts with a “Shijiazhuang DNA” and garnering widespread attention both within and outside the industry.
According to reports, Shisiyao Group and China Pharmaceutical University will jointly establish a university-level practice base for professional-degree graduate students and an off-campus internship and practice base for undergraduates. Focusing on the cultivation of high-caliber talent, driven by scientific research innovation, and underpinned by resource sharing, the collaboration will tap into and leverage the respective strengths of both institutions to jointly develop new approaches, mechanisms, and models for the cooperative training of high-level, application-oriented professionals. This initiative will truly realize school–enterprise co-construction and the integration of industry and education, setting a benchmark model for the cultivation and recruitment of high-caliber talent in our city’s biopharmaceutical industry.
Lu Tao, Vice President of China Pharmaceutical University, stated: “Shijiazhuang’s pharmaceutical industry is among the leading sectors nationwide, with a robust demand for talent. This joint initiative will provide students with ample opportunities for hands-on training, deepen their understanding of enterprises, and broaden their career options. Su Xuejun, Chairman of Shisi Pharmaceutical Group, stated that the company will actively explore new avenues for collaborative graduate education, further refine the talent-development mechanism that integrates industry, academia, research, and education, ensure high-quality teaching and training for graduate students, and rigorously fulfill its talent-development objectives.
