March 16 — The spirit of Lei Feng is spreading across the country, and voluntary blood donation is warming people’s hearts. March is “Lei Feng Month,” and since the beginning of the month, the Hebei Provincial Blood Center has organized a series of activities to put the spirit of Lei Feng into practice through voluntary blood donation. This morning, the Hebei Provincial Blood Center joined forces with Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to launch the “Following in Lei Feng’s Footsteps, Promoting the Sihua Spirit” voluntary blood donation campaign.
At around 9:00 a.m., the voluntary blood donation drive officially commenced. Under the orderly guidance of staff, volunteer donors carefully completed their personal information forms, thoroughly familiarized themselves with blood-donation guidelines and relevant precautions, and then lined up in turn to fill out forms, have their blood pressure checked, and determine their blood type. The blood-donation site was well-organized and smooth. Participants noted that by taking part in voluntary blood donation, they are putting the spirit of Lei Feng into practice through concrete actions—benefiting their own health while also supporting public welfare initiatives.
Among the blood donors were both company workshop leaders and frontline employees. Some were donating for the first time, while others had repeatedly shown their compassion. Chen Wenbin, 33, was the first to step onto the blood-collection vehicle; this was his inaugural blood-donation experience. He said that he had never had the opportunity before, but with the mobile unit now stationed on company grounds, he saw it as an excellent chance and bravely took the first step. Zhang Chaoxu, 30, is participating in blood donation for the sixth time, yet this is his first time doing so at work. “I was a bit nervous during my first donation and only gave 200 milliliters. Later, I realized that donating blood not only benefits one’s own health but also helps save lives, so I’ve kept it up, giving 400 milliliters each time and accumulating a total of 2,200 milliliters.” Li Zebing, 34, had originally planned to stay home and rest today, but upon hearing about the blood drive, he hurried over from home to take part. He remarked, “Donating blood can help more people—it’s truly meaningful.”
According to reports, a total of 57 volunteer blood donors from the company boarded the mobile blood-collection vehicle that day, donating 20,200 milliliters of blood on a voluntary, unpaid basis. Chen Li, Deputy Director of the Hebei Provincial Blood Center, presented a banner to Song Mingxia, Chairperson of the Trade Union of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., expressing heartfelt gratitude for the company’s support of voluntary blood donation efforts.
