The selection criteria for the China Innovative Pharmaceutical Enterprises Ranking are primarily derived from the China Pharmaceutical Statistics Annual Report, the China New Drug R&D Monitoring Database, and the Comprehensive Drug Database. The conference’s evaluation panel assesses pharmaceutical companies across multiple dimensions—including characteristics, capabilities, driving forces, operations, and strategy—conducting a rigorous, comprehensive scoring process. The goal is to provide a clear and vivid portrayal of the policy framework and development models underpinning the innovative pharmaceutical industry, highlighting the spirit and ethos of innovative drug companies, and thereby setting benchmarks and contributing to the further advancement of China’s innovative pharmaceutical sector.
In recent years, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical has been driven by innovation, boldly tackling critical “bottleneck” technologies and strategically positioning itself across multiple therapeutic areas, including antiviral, antibacterial, anticancer, neurological, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and anesthetic fields. The company has coordinated the development and research of generic drugs, innovative medicines, specialty APIs, pharmaceutical packaging materials, and products undergoing bioequivalence evaluation. Over the past two years in particular, leveraging a comprehensive package of national, provincial, and municipal policies designed to support enterprises, Shijiazhuang Sihua has continuously increased its R&D investment. Relying on high-level innovation platforms such as the enterprise technology center recognized by five national ministries and commissions and the National–Local Joint Engineering Laboratory, the company has partnered with renowned universities and research institutes—including China Pharmaceutical University, Zhengzhou University, Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences—to bring together leading pharmacological experts and academic leaders from both China and abroad. Together, they have established an innovation consortium led by the company, supported by universities and research institutions, and characterized by close collaboration among all relevant innovation players, thereby continuously building new competitive advantages, forging a new industrial landscape, and creating fresh opportunities for the industry’s dynamic advancement. In 2022, Shijiazhuang Sihua ranked among the top in the domestic industry in terms of the number of approved and filed specialty generic drugs. Currently, the company has nearly 200 projects under development, spanning innovative medicines, high-end complex formulations, and specialty generics, with more than 100 new products awaiting approval, ensuring that its innovation chain continually empowers the company to move up the value chain toward the mid- to high-end segments.
According to reports, this year’s China Pharmaceutical Strategy Conference is themed “Innovation, Strengthening the Industrial Chain, and Fostering Innovation Hubs.” It is co-hosted by the China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center and the Management Committee of Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, with guidance from the Youth Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the People’s Government of Shijiazhuang City, and supported by Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and other organizations. The conference takes a comprehensive, multi-perspective approach to examining future development trends and transformative opportunities across all segments of the pharmaceutical industry, further advancing the “Healthy China 2030” initiative. It brings together leaders from government regulatory agencies, leading experts and scholars, senior corporate executives, industry association representatives, and other key stakeholders to facilitate the aggregation and flow of innovation resources, enhance collaborative innovation throughout the industrial chain, elevate the level of industrial development, and promote high-quality growth of China’s pharmaceutical sector.
