On August 3, Li Xuerong, Director of the Standing Committee of the Shijiazhuang Municipal People’s Congress, visited Gaocheng District to meet with and engage with municipal people’s congress deputies. During face-to-face, in-depth exchanges, the deputies reported on their performance of duties in light of their respective work realities and shared their suggestions and opinions. Li Jie, Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the Shijiazhuang Municipal People’s Congress, also attended the event.
On August 3, Li Xuerong, Director of the Standing Committee of the Shijiazhuang Municipal People’s Congress, visited Gaocheng District to engage with municipal people’s congress deputies, holding in-depth face-to-face discussions. The deputies, drawing on their respective work experiences, reported on their performance of duties and exchanged views and suggestions. Li Jie, Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the Shijiazhuang Municipal People’s Congress, attended the event.
Li Xuerong and his delegation visited Hebei Guolong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, the Gaocheng Palace Lantern Research and Development Center, and the studio of Bai Jiandong, a representative to the Municipal People’s Congress. They listened carefully to briefings on the enterprises’ production and operations, technological research and development, and grassroots social governance, and gained a detailed understanding of how the representatives are performing their duties and how the representatives’ studios are being established and operated.
At the construction site of the Guolong Pharmaceutical New-Formulation and Biopharmaceutical Industrial Park project—a key provincial and municipal initiative—Li Xuerong carefully listened to briefings from the company’s leadership and grassroots municipal People’s Congress deputies on matters such as industrial planning, R&D innovation, and project progress. He commended the company for benchmarking against world-class pharmaceutical standards, accelerating the development of foundational infrastructure, proactively building a high-quality, modern biopharmaceutical industrial park with an international outlook, and driving the upgrading of both the industry and its products.
Li Xuerong fully commended the municipal People’s Congress deputies for conscientiously fulfilling their duties and leveraging their roles in light of their respective positions. He emphasized that deputies are the principal actors of the People’s Congress. Deputies should further elevate their political awareness, focus on the city’s central tasks and on the pressing and difficult issues of greatest public concern, and proactively serve as a vital bridge and link between the Party committees and the government and the broad masses of the people. They should fully capitalize on their advantages at the grassroots level, act with pragmatism and a strong sense of responsibility, faithfully perform their statutory duties, conduct in-depth investigations and studies, maintain close ties with the people, gain a thorough understanding of their conditions, listen to their voices, draw on their wisdom, and address their concerns. In addition, they should actively offer constructive suggestions and proposals of high quality, thereby demonstrating the exemplary conduct of People’s Congress deputies through concrete actions. People’s Congresses at all levels should further expand the channels and platforms for deputies to engage with the people, effectively establish, utilize, and manage deputies’ homes (stations), and fully harness the role of these grassroots units of whole-process people’s democracy, so as to make contributions from the People’s Congress in accelerating the development of a modern, international, and beautiful provincial capital city.
