On September 15, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group announced another significant achievement in new-product development: salbutamol sulfate, submitted by its subsidiary Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration and registered as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in marketed dosage forms. This marks the group’s 11th newly approved API this year. To date, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has obtained a total of 44 production approvals for various new products in 2023.

According to available information, salbutamol sulfate is generally used to treat bronchospasm in patients with bronchial asthma, asthmatic bronchitis, and emphysema.
In recent years, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group has proactively expanded its API business, focusing on building an integrated “API-plus-formulation” development advantage. The company has continuously broadened its product portfolio, and its R&D, manufacturing, and sales of APIs have demonstrated strong growth momentum, serving as a key pillar for the company’s high-quality development.
Previously, the group’s levosalbutamol hydrochloride was approved by the National Medical Products Administration on September 4 this year and registered as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in marketed dosage forms, making it the third domestic pharmaceutical company to receive approval to manufacture this product.
