Recently, the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology announced the first batch of key core technologies and products in the industrial sector selected under the “Challenge-based Recruitment” initiative, along with the entities that have taken on these challenges. Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group’s Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has been designated as the lead entity for the project titled “Research and Development of the Synthesis Process for Nicethamide API and Its Industrialization.”

According to reports, nicethamide is a central nervous system stimulant, and its injectable formulation is primarily used to treat conditions such as respiratory or circulatory failure. In this “listing-and-command” project, Guangxiang Pharmaceutical will develop a manufacturing process for nicethamide API, with the main objective of addressing challenges such as the drug’s susceptibility to oxidation, stringent transportation and storage requirements, and difficulties in scaling up production, ultimately enabling industrial-scale manufacturing of the nicethamide API.

According to the briefing, the “Challenge-Based Recruitment” initiative for critical core technologies and products in the industrial sector, organized by the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, is a key measure for implementing the requirements and spirit of Hebei Province’s “Several Measures on Accelerating Technological Innovation in Industrial Enterprises.” The aim of this initiative is to tackle and overcome difficult challenges, thereby paving the way and building bridges to accelerate breakthroughs in a number of critical core technologies that have been hindering industrial development. Moving forward, relevant departments will intensify their guidance and provide full support to help the entities that have taken up the challenges concentrate on mastering these critical core technologies, expedite the implementation of projects for translating scientific and technological achievements into practical applications, stimulate the innovation vitality and creative capacity of industrial enterprises, continuously generate more robust and impactful innovations, and inject new momentum into the province’s drive toward new-style industrialization.
