【SUMMARY】 On the eve of International Labor Day, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the Hebei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions solemnly commended the recipients of the 2024 National May Day Labor Awards—namely, the May Day Labor Certificates, Medals, Advanced Collectives, and Outstanding Individuals—as well as the provincial Model Workers, Advanced Workers, and Advanced Collectives. Good News! Two Researchers from Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group Awarded National and Provincial Labor Honors—Xia Guolong Receives the National May Day Labor Medal, and Wei Saili Is Named a Model Worker of Hebei Province.

On the eve of International Labor Day, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the Hebei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions solemnly honored recipients of the 2024 National May Day Labor Awards—namely, the May Day Labor Certificates, Medals, Advanced Collectives, and Outstanding Individuals—as well as provincial Model Workers, Advanced Workers, and Advanced Collectives. Xia Guolong has long been at the forefront of the Group’s R&D efforts, demonstrating a selfless, “all-in” spirit characterized by round-the-clock dedication and a steadfast commitment to his mission, coupled with a rigorous and pragmatic scientific approach. He works closely with all R&D teams to firmly lay the foundation for scientific innovation and to ensure the successful completion of the final stage of drug development and registration. Over the past five years, he has led his team in organizing project approval submissions, securing nearly 200 product approvals, placing the company among the industry leaders in both the number of applications filed and those approved. In 2021, he was awarded the Hebei Provincial May Day Labor Medal.

Wei Saili leads the Group’s R&D Center in the development of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and the commercialization of research outcomes. In recent years, she has closely aligned her work with the Group’s integrated “API-plus-formulation” development strategy, staying at the forefront of R&D to spearhead her team in overcoming formidable challenges and resolving a series of critical bottlenecks in API production. She has participated in more than ten provincial and municipal clinical trials and research projects, won one Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Achievement Award, and obtained over ten national patents. The specialized API research team she leads consistently maintains a leading position in China’s industry in terms of both R&D quality and efficiency. She has been recognized as a Provincial Outstanding Young Talent, selected as a technical expert in the Provincial Science and Technology Expert Database, and appointed as the inaugural rotating chair of the Yanzhao Women Craftsmen Biopharmaceutical Innovation Alliance in the provincial capital. In 2023, she was awarded the Hebei Provincial May Day Labor Medal, and in 2024, she was named one of the “Top Ten People Who Moved the Provincial Capital.”

The “National May Day Labor Medal” is an honorary medal conferred by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions to recognize workers who have made outstanding contributions to various undertakings of socialist construction. Workers awarded the “National May Day Labor Medal” receive the medal, a certificate, and a cash prize from the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.

Since the advent of the new era, the Group has continuously achieved new milestones in innovative, high-quality development, with its social influence and contributions steadily growing. This has created rare opportunities and platforms for all employees to cultivate a sense of ownership and fully play their role as the main force in the workplace. To date, more than ten individuals have been awarded national, provincial, and municipal labor honors, serving as exemplary role models whom all employees can learn from, emulate, and strive to match. According to the head of the Group’s trade union, the conferral of the National May Day Labor Medal on Xia Guolong and the title of Hebei Provincial Model Worker on Wei Saili are not only personal honors but also shared accolades for all employees of the Group. Taking this recognition as an opportunity, the Union will vigorously publicize and promote the outstanding deeds of model workers, fostering a positive atmosphere throughout the Group that respects labor, knowledge, talent, and innovation. Through initiatives to study and catch up with these role models, the Union aims to further unite and mobilize all employees to strengthen their confidence, work diligently, and make significant contributions toward writing a new chapter for Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group in the cause of Chinese-style modernization.
