Using competitions to drive training and hone solid skills. To promote the spirit of craftsmanship, cultivate experts in workplace safety, and inspire employees to learn new technologies, improve their capabilities, and compete in skill proficiency, the first Welding Skills Competition of Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Group, was recently held successfully.
On the competition stage, 12 welding “experts” from the production front line gathered to engage in fierce competition through two rounds: a theoretical knowledge quiz and a practical skills assessment. The written theory exam comprehensively evaluated the contestants’ fundamental competencies from multiple angles and at various levels, covering basic electric-welding knowledge, core technical skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to apply these skills in real-world production settings. In the subsequent hands-on round, the welding experts donned full protective gear and meticulously worked on their test pieces, continuously adjusting the welding angle, changing the welding direction, and fine-tuning the travel path to ensure smooth, well-filled weld seams—demonstrating their exceptional skills. Accompanied by the sizzling sound and the dazzling pale-blue arc of the welding torch, the competitors worked up a sweat as each exquisitely crafted finished component took shape with precision and speed, its seams perfectly aligned. The scene, ablaze with sparks flying everywhere, instantly ignited the employees’ spirit of “competing, learning, catching up, helping, and surpassing one another.”
The judges provided professional feedback and guidance on the contestants’ performances, offering valuable suggestions that proved highly beneficial. Following the competition, six outstanding contestants were recognized: Yang Qinghua from the Environmental Protection Workshop won first prize; Zhang Wenzuo from Workshop 602 and Bai Jianguang from the Power Workshop each received second prize; and Jing Huaxu from Workshop 602, Zhang Yueyang from Workshop 603, and Zhang Zhenqing from Workshop 601 were awarded third prize.
